Day 395: peanut butter

30.01.15: because advertising works, Jon. Although I had never really planned on product placement in Jon Pay stories...

Day 394: Puget Sound

29.01.15: scarything is Gus actually does find this interesting. Me, I fell asleep while drawing it...

Day 393: a tongue

28.0115: I know none of you parents out there know anything about kids behaving like this at bedtime, and like me believe behavior like this to be an evil myth. Because just like my little girl, she smiles and says "yes, of course mummy and daddy" and marches off to bed with a smile. And for all of you without kids, the pooh I am shoveling is genuine!!

Day 392: a lock

27.01.15: I feel a little cheated (again) as I already drew a lock back in day 112... An angry letter to the publisher may be called for at this point...

Anyway, my favorite cat burglar, Magpie, is back. Last time she appeared was on day 155 and before that 85. She has appeared a few more times, but you may have to look for those posts...

Day 391: middle school

26.01.15: three school next to each other and I drew the one in the middle... Yeah, I know, it's bad...

Day 390: first love

25.01.15: I could have gone with a hypothetical first love or my first love. I went with the second option. The fact that my wife walked past and saw what I was doing and simple went "yeah, that makes sense..." kind of says it all. At least I am not the only one out there, am I right?!?

Haven't attempted to draw this freehand in year and I felt like a kid again doing it. Looking at the result, it looks like a kid freehanded it...  Then again it could be the fact that I simply photograph the page and the page is not flat at this point... At least that's my story and I am sticking to it...

Day 389: tears

24.01.15: at least I am happier with this one than yesterday's. This was a mix of the first idea that struck me and can I pull it off. And there's got to be a story in there...

Saturday, January 24, 2015

Day 388: a real estate agent

23.01.15: yeah, best I can say here is that the sketch is done. Had nothing and couldn't proper execute the speck of idea I did have... Oh, well... Bed!!

Friday, January 23, 2015

Day 387: a barrel of monkeys

22.01.15: back to normal schedule. Will do my best to change that a little now, but today it was not possible.

Anyway, an inside joke. Short version, I am proud to be a member of art-house/-support group/-studio Dead Monkey Studios ™, so I filled the barrel with those monkeys.

Day 386: a ticket

21.01.15: when at a loss for what to draw, go with a true story from real life. I was dropped and left at the airport for the flight I thought I was flying out on and my ticket was for the same flight the following week... I will not say who booked the flight but I will say I was not the one with pregnancy brain!!! I found it hilarious and I find it hilarious now!!

Still have that "extra time on my hands" (sorry, honey!!!) so again early!!

Day 385: Saturn

20.01.15: found myself with a little extra time on my hands today and as a result am posting, what can only be described as early. This is a really obscure one but I know someone out there will find it EC to get.

Day 384: a brain

19.01.15: the brain is in there!! The hump is a little weird but so it is in the movie as well. And speaking of which; name the movie!! (And a few quotes may be in order too...)

Day 383: a fjord

18.01.15: for does of you going "what's with the square mountaintop upfront?!? That don't like very real or realistic!?!" I suggest looking up Prekestolen or Lysefjorden, or even better head to Norway and do the three hour hike through the most beautiful Norwegian nature to reach the naturally square rock hanging 600 meters over the fjord below. Believe me, the view and hike is worth any airfair you may pay. Can't guarantee you'll see any Vikingships below though...

Day 382: a sailboat

17.01.15: once again I let the theme inspire a scene as appose to drawing the actual thing. Tonight's reasoning was that I would have spent the entire night drawing every single rope and woodgrain of the sailboat and I must admit I'm too tired for that. Plus I got to use the pier from day 172 again.

Day 381: a sidewalk

16.01.15: okey, so just for the record Jon is trying to be funny, Sgt. Linda O'Meilly is being sarcastic and Gus believes Linda's statement. How do you think that unfortunate man met his untimely demise?

Day 380: cotton candy

15.01.15: this is what I think everyone I see Cotton Candy, so there is no reason to think my kids would react any differently. Right?!??

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

Day 379: a chainsaw

14.01.15: what would you have dropped? Doc Monster is back and that may or may not be one of the guys from New Jersey with a chainsaw in his head...

Day 378: a giraffe

13.01.15: Yep, that is Junior sliding down the neck of a giraffe. In other words the giraffe is in the sketch!!

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Day 377: perfume

12.01.15: the Boss fragrancing her mums perfume collection... I better hope she never finds this book... All the bad ideas she will find and her alibi would of course that I put her up to it, and I a roundabout kind of way, I guess I did...

Monday, January 12, 2015

Day 376: a black hole

11.01.15: evidently I overthought yesterday's sketch. As a result I may have oversimplified today's sketch... Was also able to bring back both Jon Pay, Gus MacDugal AND Tommy "the Kid" Bambino!!

Sunday, January 11, 2015

Day 375: a wormhole

10.01.15: yep, I overcomplicated this one!!! Instead of drawing a simple wormhole (could even have had the worm coming out of it...) I drew an artificial-mechanically-created-vortex, if you will. This was actually done out of necessity, kind of like...no, exactly like day 326. Without the missing billboards and the tollbooth (seriously) this is the first panel of a new project I have gotten myself involved in. Am enjoying it...if only I could fit anothe couple of hours into the day... Hope you like it!

Saturday, January 10, 2015

Day 374: bricks

09.01.15: draw while asleep, but drawn none the less. The Tiny Adventurer is in there with a feather-wearing friend, for, you know, no reason in particular...

Friday, January 9, 2015

Day 373: an uneventful street

08.01.15: clearly ripped-off...hrm..inspired by Morris and Lucky Luke, however that is Jon Pay dragging his feet down an uneventful street. Knowing Jon's luck, it is very doubtful it will remain uneventful...

Wednesday, January 7, 2015

Day 372: petroleum jelly

07.01.15: ...today's sketch... It wasn't  easy to get going today. Kind of difficult to stay with the theme of the day a silly blog when such a tragic and ...indescribable event happens. So I took liberties today. I just wanted to acknowledge it all in my own very humble way. My deepest condolences go out to families of all the victims andall those affected by today's tragedy.

Day 371: an antelope

06.01.15: this seems very fitting after yesterday's sketch... And yes, a gazelle is in the antelope family!!!

So do thing I can get a job on Peppa Pig?

Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Day 370: an apron

05.01.15: ... Okey, I may have gone a little dark on this one. Again, it was one of those first thoughts that hit me and that I couldn't get rid of. And besides what's so dark about drawing Miami PDs favorite forensic blood splatter analyst? I lost a little of the "nice guy" thing he's got going on, but at least it worked out better than the last time I attempted to draw somebody famous...

Day 369: the moon

04.01.15: have paid tribute to the House of Mouse and the desk lamp more than once, so it was only fair to tip my hat to the Boy on the Moon

Day 368: Mac and cheese

03.01.15: I was gonna go with "Mac & C.H.E.E.S.E" from Friends, but ended up being to my work considering it took us about three hours to get a teething Junior to bed... So I went witht this musical reference instead. Who can name the band and, easier, the song? If you get it right away (and you know who I am talking to here!!!??!?) see if someone else gets it...

     Good night...I hope...

Day 366: Noah's ark

01.01.15: this must be the first time I am (really) playing the Norwegian card, and yes, I am playing it on a cop-out. The Norwegian word 'ark' translates into 'sheet of paper'. So the line reads

Hi, my name is Noah and this is my sheet of paper!!

It looses something in the translation   And for those who felt I should have drawn a HUGE wooden boat with a gizillion animals walking up to it, look at the poster in the background. Who's the copout now?!?

And so year two begins...
